Joshua Matias, 2nd Bomb Wing command chief, following the crash of a B-52H Stratofortress aircraft, graphic created at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, June 17, 2026. The B-52 was carrying eight people, a joint crew of active-duty Airmen, government civilians, and Department of War contractors, on a routine test mission with the 412th Test Wing supporting the Radar Modernization Program when it crashed shortly after take-off on June 15, 2026.
