September is Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month and Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) reaffirms its commitment to the well-being of every member of our workforce. Our people are our greatest strength, and this observance reminds us of the importance of looking out for one another, encouraging open conversations, and creating a culture where seeking help is seen as a sign of strength. Every employee, service member, and teammate plays a role in fostering a safe, supportive, and connected workplace. By raising awareness and promoting prevention, we help ensure no one in our NNSY team faces challenges alone.
The Department of Navy Civilian Employee Assistance Program (DONCEAP) provides free support to Navy civilian employees. Employees may choose to either meet in person with or speak on the phone with an experienced, licensed DONCEAP counselor. Support is available 24/7 by phone, live chat, or video conference. Contact DONCEAP via their website or at 1-844-DON-CEAP.
