Senior Drill Instructor Staff Sgt. Osvaldo Diaz commented, "Renteria demonstrated quality leadership traits in line with Marine Corps values, displayed humility and selflessness when leading his fellow recruits, and lead by example by surpass all standards in regards to Marine Corps graduation requirements. Renteria earned a meritorious promotion to E-3, giving him a head start to his career by about 15 months when compared to his peers. Renteria has shown the greatest leadership potential in Fox Company and continued to strive to excel in all matters pertaining to the Marine Corps."
