    North Carolina Venomous Snakes

    North Carolina Venomous Snakes

Poster created to educate United States Marines and Sailors located in the North Carolina region about the five types of venomous snakes. The infographic poster shows and describes the specific characteristics of the copperhead, cottonmouth, eastern diamondback rattlesnake, pygmy rattlesnake, and timber rattlesnake along with the typical length, bite severity, preventive measure and snake bite treatment. North Carolina is home to 37 different kinds of snakes, but only a few have venom. By nature snakes are defensive and will not bite humans unless they feel threatened. Snakes in our state are most active from April through October. (U.S. Marine Corps Poster by CIV Sharon McPeak) (Released)
