This series of historical collage-style graphic illustration was created in Canva to depict and share our shipyard and workforce's impact made throughout history, June 25, 2025.
USS Thompson (DMS 38), a destroyer-minesweeper, was undergoing a maintenance overhaul in dry dock at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard when the Korean War began, the workforce completed repairs ahead of schedule and was able to return the ship to the Fleet in order to join the war. Illustrating naval history in connection to Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard supports the DoW mission of preserving naval heritage and fostering pride in our service's history and communicates authentically to our audience why the mission is important to serving the nation.
