Meet your Defender, U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Austin Joseph McNerny from Waxhaw, North Carolina. McNerny is assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade and is a battalion master trainer for all small drone platforms. He's been in the Army for seven years and has been an NCO for almost four. He trains and qualifies Soldiers on a wide range of technology and soldiering skills, applying his skill set as a Fire Support Specialist. McNerny shapes the of Soldiers and NCOs of the future.
