Wiley joined the Army in 2022 to challenge himself and increase his leadership capabilities while also being an electrician with his master's license.
"Meeting different people and cultures is my favorite part about joining the U.S. Army . It's a great way to visit the world."
Wiley is a 15E, which is an unmanned aircraft systems repairer, specifically for the RQ-7 Shadow. Wiley credits his technical inclinations for helping him develop the Chinook Fuel Sampler which he presented at the Marne Innovation Challenge during Marne Week.
The fuel sampler addresses the lack of a specialized tool for CH-47 Chinook crew members to extract fuel from the tank and identify foreign materials safely. It provides a mess-free, safe method, reducing direct contact with fuel.
