The State Command Chief Master Sergeant of the Wisconsin Air National Guard wanted to start a group that would motivate military members to become more physically fit. He and a group of individuals throughout the Wisconsin National Guard put together a program called WING Fitness Warrior that encourages individuals to document their workouts and fitness based hobbies and in return can earn awards. This coin was created as an award for the program and the Fitness warrior side is also used as the official logo for the program.
Side 1: The muscular individual with the spartan helmet represents the warrior that anyone can become and the status they can achieve through the program. The silhouettes of the male and female lifting dumbbells flanking the warrior represent that the group is for all types of people both male and female. The text “WARRIOR” is the larges text because it alludes to the level of achievement members can attain and is the end goal for the program. “WING” stands for Wisconsin National Guard
Side 2: The Air Force Symbol and the Army Symbol are used together to show the 2 sides of Wisconsin’s National Guard. The color blue is used to represent the Air Force and the color yellow is used to represent the Army. The text “ALWAYS READY” and “ALWAYS THERE” alludes to the fact that the National Guard is constantly training and is ready for any call for help they need to answer. The text “FIT TO FIGHT” represents that the Airman/Soldier that holds the coin has proven they are prepared to meet a physical challenge with the might of a Fitness Warrior.
