This graphic was created to highlight U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations Command which was activated on Feb. 24, 2006, as a part of U.S. Special Operations Command. MARSOC’s mission includes counterterrorism, counterinsurgency, foreign internal defense, and security force assistance. The Latin words “Spiritus Invictus,” written on the Marine Raider Badge, translate to “unconquerable spirit,” symbolizing the relentless strength and unyielding courage inherent in the Marine Corps ethos. This graphic was created using Adobe Illustrator. (U.S. Marine Corps Graphic by Lance Cpl. Matthew Benfield)
