Meet Spc. Ruben Sierra, a 91B wheeled vehicle mechanic assigned to the 928th Medical Company Area Support, 421st Multifunctional Medical Battalion, 30th Medical Brigade.
During SWORD26, Sierra demonstrated exceptional technical expertise and dedication by ensuring mission readiness across the unit's tactical vehicle fleet. He prepared 12 tactical vehicles, maintained 10 throughout the exercise, and quickly resolved a critical system failure that enabled a convoy to depart on schedule. He also managed fleet maintenance by minimizing downtime, securing essential repair parts, and addressing issues across half of the unit's equipment.
In addition to his maintenance responsibilities, Sierra played a key role in patient movement operations, helping safely evacuate 234 patients. His professionalism, commitment to excellence, and mission-focused mindset earned him formal recognition from Command Sgt. Maj. Franko, the 30th Medical Brigade command sergeant major, for his outstanding contributions to the success of SWORD26.
