The mission of the 550th Helicopter Squadron is to produce mission ready MH-139 Aircrew for Nuclear Security for the World’s Best air and Space Force. They support successful execution of IOT&E, develop competent MH-139 formal training unit instructors while preparing for safe student training. Featured prominently on the patch, their motto, “Docendo Discimus” is Latin translated to “By teaching, we learn”.
