Donald Killian, Barksdale Bombers defenseman, has played hockey all of his life. When he came to Barksdale and realized there was no team, he decided to change that.
As of last year, Airmen now have the opportunity to play hockey for the Barksdale Bombers hockey team.
From 28,000 feet above the Gulf of Mexico, B-52 Stratofortress pilots Capt. Lance Adsit and Lt. Col. Erik Johnson look out their cockpit window to see a fellow bomber aircraft soaring through the clouds to their right; two B-1 Lancers share the airspace far to the south.
The four aircraft are on a mission to destroy more than 200 digital enemy targets with simulated missile launches.
Hundreds of Airmen and a large contingent of aircraft including F-15 Strike Eagles, F-16 Fighting Falcons, C-17 Globemaster IIIs and KC-135 Stratotankers began arriving here today from Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina, and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, to avoid potential damage from high winds associated with Hurricane Matthew along the East Coast.
