This graphic was created for the First Class Petty Officer Association at NATO Allied Command Transformation in Norfolk, Virginia, December 5, 2023. It was made using hand-drawn, raster-based techniques in Adobe Photoshop. Symbolism featured in the design include a mermaid, to represent the city of Norfolk, the NATO compass behind the mermaid, a First-Class crow on the shield, and a globe on the bottom left, representing NATO’s outreach. Allied Command Transformation is NATO’s warfare development command located in North America, dedicated to preserving the peace, security, and territorial integrity of Alliance member states by leading the warfare development of military structures, forces, capabilities and doctrines.
