NIWC Pacific, AFCEA international San Diego host NAML 2026 to advance warfighter-focused machine learning

This U.S. Navy graphic was created using Inkscape to promote awareness of the Naval Applications of Machine Learning (NAML) 2026 workshop, Jan. 16, 2026. The shape of the logo represents the silhouette of a U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer’s bow, which is designed to cut through water, reduce drag and improve stability. The NAML 2026 logo reflects the workshop’s focus on speed, precision and operational advantage. This year’s design features a marlin, symbolizing the Navy’s speed in rapidly developing and deploying warfighting capabilities. In recognition of the workshop’s 10th anniversary, the logo returns to the original blue and gold color palette. NAML is an annual event hosted jointly by Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific and AFCEA International San Diego that connects government, industry, and academic researchers to advance machine learning capabilities for the fleet.
