On June 14, 1777, the United States adopted the Stars and Stripes as our official national flag. Today, we pause to honor "Old Glory" and the enduring values of freedom, courage, and resilience she represents.
At America's Shipyard, the flag holds a special significance. It flies proudly above our historic dry docks and from the masts of the mighty warships we repair, maintain, and modernize. Every time we see those colors on the waterfront, it serves as a powerful reminder of the republic we protect and the service members who rely on our critical work.
To the men and women of NNSY—military and civilian alike—thank you for your unwavering dedication to the flag and the mission it stands for.
