Senior Drill Instructor Staff Sgt. Winston Myers commented, "From the start of the cycle I knew Holling was going to be an exceptional Marine. The entire platoon looked up to him, because from the start he was setting the example and they had no issue with the way he conducted himself as their guide. At the start he was timid but as he progressed he grew in confidence and persevered throughout recruit training. His mental and physical toughness allowed him to exceed amongst his peers and implemented a great example of a well rounded Marine."
