FB: Don’t underestimate the heat. Service members are at higher risk for heat illness due to intense training, heavy gear, and hot environments. Heat injuries can happen fast — and they can take you out of the mission.

    What to watch for:
    • Headache
    • Dizziness or weakness
    • Nausea
    • Heavy sweating or confusion

    What helps prevent it:
    • Hydrate early — don’t wait until you’re thirsty.
    • Follow work/rest guidance.
    • Adjust your pace in high heat.
    • Check on your battle buddies.
Heat illness is preventable. Protect yourself. Protect your team. Preserve readiness. #DefensePublicHealth
