This infographic designed for social media to communicate optional contract extension
availability to first- term enlisted Marines whose future plans are impacted by the COVID-19
pandemic. Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA) has developed the short-term retention plan
that allows Marines to extend their service by up to 12 or 24 months in order to allow them to
more easily transition out of the Marine Corps while also fulfilling the manpower needs of the
