This emblem replaces the previous Joint Task Force Southern Guard emblem, created using Adobe Illustrator at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Dec. 1, 2025. The design features the Great Seal of the United States as it sits above the silhouette of Cuba resting on a sunburst-style background, encased by concertina wire. The color purple filling the seal’s exterior ring represents joint service and unity, the laurel branches symbolize honor, while the gold sunburst signifies excellence. The concertina wire represents security as it relates to national defense. The eagle holding an olive branch in its right foot and arrows in its left symbolizes freedom, strength and courage. The outline of Cuba represents JTF-SG’s location at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, and the color blue represents loyalty. (U.S. Army graphic by Pfc. Mya Zavala)
