HEIDELBERG, Germany – On February 4, 2011, the V Corps Headquarters was located at Campbell Barracks in Heidelberg, Germany, where it had been based since 1972. Campbell Barracks, a key U.S. Army installation in Europe, served as the administrative and operational hub for V Corps during this period, supporting its mission as a forward-deployed corps under U.S. Army Europe. During that time, V Corps was preparing for its deployment to Afghanistan in June 2012 as part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Joint Command, marking its first major involvement in that theater.
