A graphic created to commemorate the Battle of Chapultepec in Mexico City, Sept. 13, 1847. Marines' courage and sacrifice became a lasting legend. The red "Blood Stripe" on Marine dress blue uniforms honors those who fell at Chapultepec, while the phrase "Halls of Montezuma" in the Marines' Hymn commemorates their role in capturing the castle.
