This graphic illustrates annual Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System (MAFFS) retardant delivery totals from 2020 through 2026, highlighting more than one million gallons delivered during the 2026 wildland fire season. As of Aug. 31, 2026, MAFFS aircraft had delivered 1,070,017 gallons of fire retardant in support of wildland firefighting operations across the western United States. The milestone reflects the combined efforts of Airmen from the 146th Airlift Wing, California Air National Guard; 152nd Airlift Wing, Nevada Air National Guard; 153rd Airlift Wing, Wyoming Air National Guard; and 302nd Airlift Wing, Air Force Reserve Command, working alongside the U.S. Forest Service and interagency firefighting partners.
