    Hot Weather is Here

As temperatures rise, it’s important to protect yourself and those around you from heat-related illness. Whether you’re working outdoors, training, exercising, or enjoying summer activities, heat injuries can happen quickly.
    Remember to:
    • Stay hydrated throughout the day
    • Take breaks in shaded or cool areas
    • Wear lightweight, breathable clothing
    • Use sunscreen and protect exposed skin
    • Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke
Service members and leaders should pay close attention to work/rest cycles during training and outdoor operations. Adjusting activity levels and allowing proper recovery time can help prevent serious heat injuries.
If you begin feeling dizzy, nauseated, weak, or develop excessive sweating or confusion, seek medical attention immediately.
Stay safe. Stay hydrated. Take the heat seriously.
