The United States is a Pacific nation whose political, economic and security interests remain closely tied to the Indo-Pacific region. Since 1944, Eighth Army's enduring presence in the Asia-Pacific has demonstrated U.S. commitment to regional allies while providing a credible deterrent to potential adversaries.
During Freedom Shield 26, Eighth Army strengthened readiness through multi-domain and live-fire training across South Korea. Key events included strategic airborne operations, joint wet-gap river crossings with Republic of Korea Army forces and air assault live-fire exercises at Rodriguez Live Fire Complex. These exercises enhanced interoperability, reinforced combined defense capabilities and demonstrated the strength of the U.S.-ROK alliance. (U.S. Army motion graphic by Staff Sgt. Daniel Lopez)
