Staff Sgt. Brian J. Yoder, representing the U.S. Army Pacific, releases a prisoner at one of his check points during the day land navigation test Oct. 3, at Fort Lee, Va. Yoder and 11 other non-commissioned officers are competing for the title of Department of the Army Best Warrior. The 12 NCOs and an additional 12 Soldiers will spend this week at Fort Lee competing in events such as the board, weapons and warrior tasks. The winners will be announced at a ceremony, Oct. 8, in the District of Columbia. Yoder is currently assigned as an intelligence analyst for the 94th Army Air Missile Defense Command, located at Fort Shafter, Hawaii. He hails from Newport, Pa.
