Spc. Jamiell E. Goforth, representing U.S. Army Forces Command, puts together an M16A2 rifle as part of the common tasks test, Oct. 4, at Fort Lee, Va. Goforth and 11 other Soldiers are competing for the title of Department of the Army Best Warrior. The 12 Soldiers and an additional 12 non-commissioned officers will spend this week at Fort Lee competing in events such as the board, weapons, land navigation and warrior tasks. The winners will be announced at a ceremony, Oct. 8, in the District of Columbia. Gofroth is currently assigned as a combat medic in the 404th Aviation Support Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, located at Fort Hood, Texas. Goforth, who hails from Seattle, has served in the Army for two years and is the only female in the competition.
