Staff Sgt. Travis W. Snook, representing U.S. Army Europe, guides occupants of a vehicle to a secure location before he searches it as part of the common tasks test Oct. 4, at Fort Lee, Va. Snook and 11 other non-commissioned officers are competing for the title of Department of the Army Best Warrior. The 12 NCOs and an additional 12 Soldiers will spend this week at Fort Lee competing in events such as the board, weapons, land navigation and warrior tasks. The winners will be announced at a ceremony, Oct. 8, in the District of Columbia. Snook is currently assigned as an armor crewman small group instructor in the 7th Army Non-commissioned Officers Academy located at Joint Multimantioan training Command, Grafenwoehr, Germany. He hails from Hirlau, Lewistown, Pa. Snook has served in the Army for seven years and is currently pursuing a degree in criminal justice.
