Staff Sgt. Travis W. Snook, representing U.S. Army Europe, hurries to his next battle drill station to fire at targets in a battle drill as part of the weapons qualification test Oct. 4, at Fort Lee, Va. Snook and 11 other non-commissioned officers are competing for the title of Department of the Army Best Warrior. The 12 NCOs and an additional 12 Soldiers will spend this week at Fort Lee competing in events such as the board, land navigation and warrior tasks. The winners will be announced at a ceremony, Oct. 8, in the District of Columbia. Snook is currently assigned as an armor crewman small group instructor in the 7th Army NCO Academy located at the Joint Multinational Training Command in Grafenwoehr, Germany. Snook, who hails from Lewistown, Pa., has served in the Army for seven years.
