Staff Sgt. Mark D. Dornbusch, representing U.S. Army National Guard, hurries to his next battle drill station to fire at targets in a battle drill as part of the weapons qualification test, Oct. 4, at Fort Lee, Va. Dornbusch and 11 other non-commissioned officer are competing for the title of Department of the Army Best Warrior. The 12 NCOs and an additional 12 Soldiers will spend this week at Fort Lee competing in events such as the board, land navigation and warrior tasks. The winners will be announced at a ceremony, Oct. 8, in the District of Columbia. Dornbusch, from Austin, is currently assigned as an infantryman in the 2nd Battalion, 136th Infantry Regiment located at Camp Mabry in Austin. Dornbusch has served in the Army for six years.
