Spc. Stephen D. Lester, representing the National Capital Region, performs push-ups in the Army physical fitness test Oct. 3, at Fort Lee, Va. Lester and 11 other Soldiers are competing for the title of Department of the Army Best Warrior. The 12 Soldiers and an additional 12 non-commissioned officers will spend this week at Fort Lee competing in events such as the board, weapons, land navigation and warrior tasks. The winners will be announced at a ceremony, Oct. 8, in the District of Columbia. Lester, who hails from Jefferson, N.C., is currently assigned as a military policeman for the 289th Military Police Company, 3rd U.S. Infantry (The Old Guard), located at Fort Myer, Va.
