FORT LEE, Va. (October 4, 2007) -- Spc. Erik T. Nowak, representing U.S. Army National Guard, calls in a nine-line MEDEVAC as part of the common tasks test Oct. 4, 2007, at Fort Lee, Va. Nowak and 11 other Soldiers are competing for the title of Department of the Army Best Warrior. The 12 Soldiers and an additional 12 NCOs will spend this week at Fort Lee competing in events such as the board, weapons, land navigation and warrior tasks. The winners will be announced at a ceremony, Oct. 8, in the District of Columbia. Nowak is currently assigned as a military policeman in the 151st Military Police Battalion located at Martinsburg, W.V. He hails from Inwood, W.V.
