Today we are speaking with the Army Community Services’ Financial Readiness Program, or FRP. This program is designed to offer free education, counseling, and support services to members of the military community including Active Duty Soldiers, Retirees, Survivors and Family members, as well as Department of the Army (DA) Civilians. The family support center's financial readiness staff can provide assistance with budgeting, investing for the future and living within your means. Stay tuned to hear more about the Financial Readiness Program which is helping our community become better informed and financially strong.

Today we are talking about Traumatic Brain Injury and the clinic here at Fort Polk that offers specialized care for service members who may have TBI or concussions.
The Army takes this issue very seriously and encourages Soldiers to get the care they need. Thankfully, Fort Polk has a TBI clinic dedicated to providing the best care for these injuries. Whether you are suffering from a mild concussion or a more serious brain injury, Fort Polk's TBI clinic is here to help.

Today we are talking about one of the amazing recreational offerings at Fort Polk - the Recreational Shooting Range! Located on post, it provides active-duty soldiers, retirees, DOD civilians and family members a chance to experience learn and enjoy the sport of shooting. The Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (DFMWR) has created a safe environment where everyone can shoot in peace.

This week, we're honoring and recognizing Medal of Honor recipients from the Army. The Medal of Honor is the highest military honor awarded by the United States government and given to those who fight courageously in combat. We are proud to be able to recognize these heroes here at Fort Polk and we thank them for their service and sacrifice. We can never fully thank them for all they have done, but it's our hope that by listening to their stories, we can gain a greater understanding of what it means to be a true hero.

Today, we're here to talk about the BOSS Program and its new president, SPC West. BOSS stands for Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers, a program that provides invaluable support and resources to single soldiers in our army community. The BOSS program is committed to providing quality of life and recreational opportunities, while also offering educational and career development activities. SPC West is excited to lead BOSS and we can't wait to see the great work that BOSS does under his leadership!

Today, we're talking about the Army Emergency Relief Campaign (AER). AER was established in 1942 by the Secretary of War and the Army Chief of Staff to provide financial relief for Soldiers and their Families during times of emergency. AER provides a variety of services, including Emergency Travel Assistance and Personal Vehicle Expenses. The AER Campaign is an important part of the Army's mission to support its members in times of need and it isn’t about how much you give, it’s about how many of you give. Most Soldiers will never need AER, but we are all responsible for the ones that do.

This year's conference will be held at the Warrior Center at Fort Polk on November 15th and 16th.

The ACS Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory enrollment program that identifies, tracks, and provides special services to families with members who have any physical, emotional, developmental, or intellectual disability.
The goal of the EFMP is to provide comprehensive and coordinated community support, housing, education, medical, and personnel services to eligible families with exceptional family members.
