A U.S. Air National Guard Civil Engineer uses natural camouflage while maintaining communications during a field training scenario at Patriot Forge II at Ft. Devens Army Reserve Training Area, Massachusetts, Aug. 13, 2026. Instructors created courses to prepare Air National Guard Civil Engineers to engage in uncomfortable and expeditionary circumstances. The Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force training served to enable the projection and recovery of airpower beyond the Main Operating Base by providing combat support, base-level utility maintenance, and emergency response capabilities.
