A U.S. Air National Guard Civil Engineer wears protective equipment while participating in a ground combat training scenario during Patriot Forge II at Ft. Devens Army Reserve Training Area, Massachusetts, Aug. 13, 2026. The exercise allowed Civil Engineers to train critical defensive skills, vital when supporting the defense of an installation. During the exercise, ANG civil engineers practiced tangible, cross-functional combat skills with a focus on tactical combat casualty care, convoy operations, base defense, and dismounted patrol tasks to make them more lethal and survivable.
