A U.S. Air National Guard instructor briefs Civil Engineers during a field training scenario at Patriot Forge II at Ft. Devens Army Reserve Training Area, Massachusetts, Aug. 13, 2026. Instructors created courses to prepare Air National Guard Civil Engineers to engage in uncomfortable and expeditionary circumstances. During the exercise, ANG civil engineers practiced tangible, cross-functional combat skills with a focus on tactical combat casualty care, convoy operations, base defense, and dismounted patrol tasks to make them more lethal and survivable.
