A U.S. Air National Guard Civil Engineer maintains a prone defensive position during ground combat training at Patriot Forge II at Ft. Devens Army Reserve Training Area, Massachusetts, Aug. 13, 2026. The exercise allowed Civil Engineers to train critical defensive skills, vital when supporting the defense of an installation. 200 personnel from four squadrons trained to enhance the warfighter ethos and readiness for a peer/near-peer fight, regional interoperability, and development of multi-capable Airmen.
