U.S. Air National Guard Civil Engineers move alongside tactical vehicles during a field training scenario at Patriot Forge II at Ft. Devens Army Reserve Training Area, Massachusetts, Aug. 11, 2026. During the exercise, ANG civil engineers practiced tangible, cross-functional combat skills with a focus on tactical medicine, convoy operations, and infantry tasks to make them more lethal and survivable. Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force units are specialized to enable the projection and recovery of airpower beyond the Main Operating Base by providing combat support, base-level utility maintenance, and emergency response capabilities.
