ANAHEIM, Calif. (Aug. 6, 2023) Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Andrew McIntyre, a Navy Recruiter with Navy Talent Acquisition Group Southwest, times attendees in the arm plank test during TheFitExpo Anaheim at the Anaheim Convention Center Aug. 6, 2023. The plank is a fitness test to measure core strength and muscle endurance and replaced the sit-up in Navy Physical Standards testing. The Navy’s mission is to instill a culture of fitness to assist Sailors in developing their ability to compete tasks which support the command mission and operational readiness by maintaining optimum health, physical and mental stamina.
