Family, friends and members of the Fort Bliss community gather to celebrate the life and legacy of U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Curtis Brown (Ret.) during a celebration of life at Fort Bliss, Texas, Aug. 10, 2026. Several speakers shared memories and reflections honoring Brown’s life, military service and lasting impact, including Command Sgt. Maj. Carvet Tate, the senior enlisted leader of the 1st Armored Division, and Jade Lauren Jacobs, who delivered a special tribute.
