U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Curtis Taylor, commanding general of the 1st Armored Division, Will Hurd, president of ICON Prime, and Army leaders, Department of Defense officials and industry partners participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tour the Army's newest 3D-printed transient training barracks at Fort Bliss, Texas, July 28, 2026. During the ceremony, leaders highlighted the rapid construction of the Rotational Unit Billeting Area, which includes 12 3D-printed barracks capable of housing up to 560 Soldiers. Completed in less than four months using advanced additive construction technology, the project demonstrates the Army's commitment to accelerating military infrastructure, improving Soldier quality of life and increasing readiness through innovative construction methods.
