Volunteers from the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force disassemble a B-24J Liberator aircraft at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, July 29 through August 14, 2026. The project consisted of different phases, followed by sending the B-24J to Lake Charles, Louisiana for repainting and relocating the display to the Mighty Eighth’s museum in Pooler, Georgia.
