This week we are hosting a Site Activation Task Force, a key milestone in planning Selfridge’s role in tomorrow’s fight, and as part of that, we are also hosting an F-15EX Eagle II from DCMA Boeing.
Visualizing the aircraft on our flight line is more than impressive —it’s giving planners insight into the facilities and infrastructure upgrades we will need to support both the F-15EX and the KC-46 Pegasus, the primary reason for their visit this week.

A major accident response exercise conducted at Selfridge Air National Guard Base on April 3, 2025, brought a variety of members together for a realistic training opportunity. Personnel in the air traffic control tower, Selfridge Fire Department and those assigned to a crashed, damaged or disabled aircraft recovery team, worked with members of Marine Wing Support Squadron - 471, Naval Reserve Center - Detroit, and the Selfridge Military Air Museum to simulate a realistic accident training scenario.

U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Matthew Olde, the F-15 director of programs and operations at Defense Contract Management Agency Boeing St. Louis, exits an F-15EX Eagle II aircraft at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan, June 11, 2025. The Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC) Fire Department was called to duty late January 27, 2025, providing mutual aid support to the Alpena Fire Department and community as the Holcim-Alpena Plant - a large local cement plant - requested assistance for a rescue operation following a bulldozer rollover incident.
