Staff Sgt. Neil Wegley and SrA Richard Frerichs-Shea,155th Explosive Ordnance Disposal technicians, analyze diagnostics to determine whether a simulated suspicious item contains explosive material or hazardous components, Feb. 5, 2026, at the Nebraska National Guard air base in Lincoln, Nebraska. Interpreting internal components allows EOD technicians to assess potential hazards and determine appropriate render-safe procedures, ensuring the safety of personnel and mission-critical assets. This simulation was integrated into a four-day Combat Readiness Inspection testing the 155th’s deployment readiness and the supporting infrastructure required to execute wartime operations.
