Staff Sgt. Tim Lawrence, 155th Security Forces Squadron specialist, guards the established perimeter, Feb. 5, 2026, at the Nebraska National Guard air base in Lincoln, Nebraska. SFS coordinated with Explosive Ordnance Disposal Airmen to isolate the area and ensure standoff distances were safely maintained during a recent Combat Readiness Inspection. Over the course of four days, evaluators employed smoke grenades and other controlled explosions to test unit cohesion and response coordination to threats in simulated austere environments.
