Airmen with the 155th Air Refueling Wing, scan the exterior of a KC-135 Stratotanker for simulated radiological contamination during an exercise, Feb. 7, 2026, at the Nebraska National Guard air base in Lincoln, Nebraska. The inspection ensured potential contamination was identified and contained, protecting aircrew, maintenance personnel, and aircraft while validating CBRN response procedures. This simulation was a part of a four-day Combat Readiness Inspection testing the deployment readiness and the supporting infrastructure required to execute wartime operations.
