Alaskan North American Aerospace Defense Command Region (ANR) will participate in Operation NOBLE DEFENDER, a long-planned Arctic air defense operation involving military aircraft and personnel from Canada and the United States, March 14 to 17, 2022.
JOINT BASE ELMENDORF RICHARDSON, Alaska - At 5:53 p.m. (AKST), the Alaskan North American Aerospace Defense Region detected, tracked and identified Russian aircraft entering the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone.
Alaskan Command staff organized and hosted site surveys, Aug. 23-27, of the remote communities of Nome and Utqiagvik for suitability of hosting full-spectrum search and rescue operations.
Alaskan Command will conduct ARCTIC EDGE, a biennial exercise, Feb. 28 – March 17.
ARCTIC EDGE is designed to provide realistic and effective training for participants using the premier training locations available throughout Alaska. Alaskan Command has successfully operated in the Arctic and defended Alaska for more than 70 years.
