Members of the 2-127th Infantry firing mortar team, Wisconsin Army National Guard participated in a research study on the effects of firing mortars on soldiers.
A team of researchers from Walter Reed Army Institute of Research came to Fort McCoy, WI. to gather data during mortar live fire training measuring the blast pressure and then also testing individually soldiers. The different tests included hearing organization, eye tracking, looking at the pupil, blood tests and looking for markers of an acute traumatic episode.
