ATLANTIC OCEAN (March 9, 2017) – Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Kanecia Tilley directs a UH-1Y Venom, assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 167 (HLMA-167), to land on the flight deck of amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). Iwo Jima is underway conducting in a series of qualifications and certifications as part of the basic phase of training in preparation for future operations and deployments.
