U.S. Army Pfc. Gage Leavitt, a corrections and detention specialist assigned to the 603rd Military Police Company, 109th Military Police Battalion, conducts a radio check during the signal and communication lane part of the Dark Knight race held at Ādaži Military Base, Latvia, Sept. 10, 2026. Teams began the lane by inspecting their equipment for defects before demonstrating their ability to install the radio, verify its functionality and establish communications with cadre. Successfully completing each requirement received a “go” for the station. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO Allies. V Corps is operationalizing and expanding the Eastern Flank Deterrence Initiative with Allies, rapidly integrating emerging technologies into training and tactical plans. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
