    U.S. Army V Corps

    U.S. Army 1st Lt. Ty Cook, a cadre member and an executive officer assigned to the 603rd Military Police Company, 109th Military Police Battalion, watches and grades competitors on how well they follow the directions while completing station one of the Dark Knight race held at Ādaži Military Base, Latvia, Sept. 10, 2026. Teams received their instructions and a limited opportunity to ask questions before starting the first of six stations. Once the clock began, the challenge was entirely up to the team to complete. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO Allies. V Corps is operationalizing and expanding the Eastern Flank Deterrence Initiative with Allies, rapidly integrating emerging technologies into training and tactical plans. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
